2010 ICC Parent Leadership Award
The Interagency Coordinating Council (ICC) on Early Intervention wants to identify and recognize exemplary parent leaders. If you know someone who is currently serving, or has previously served in a parenting role to a child with a disability, and believe that the person is a leader whose active participation in the Early Start community has positively impacted the early intervention system in California, please consider nominating the individual for this award.
The ICC is an advisory body to the Department of Developmental Services, the lead agency for Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), known in California as Early Start. The ICC Parent Leadership Award will recognize an individual whose leadership, through Early Start at the local, state, and/or federal level, is making a difference for young children and their families in California.
The attached materials provide information about the purpose of the award, instructions on how to make a nomination, criteria to be used in reviewing and evaluating nominations, and the selection process. The Nomination Form must be completed in accordance with the instructions and received by 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at the following address:
