Director's Biography

Meet the Executive Director- Pamela S. Meeker has accepted the position of Executive Director at Lanterman Developmental Center, Department of Developmental Services, effective October 1, 2006.
Ms. Meeker has worked for the Department for 37 years, most recently serving as the Clinical Director at Lanterman. Ms. Meeker's experience includes leadership at three developmental centers and at headquarters level with the Department of Developmental Services. Pamela began her career as a Psychiatric Technician at Lanterman in 1968. While at Lanterman, Pamela served as a Residence Manager, in both the Intermediate Care Facility and the Nursing Facility Programs.
In 1979, Pamela transferred to Stockton Developmental Center where she held a variety of management positions, concluding her tenure at Stockton as Assistant to the Clinical Director. In 1985 she moved to Agnews Developmental Center, serving as the Assistant to the Executive Director, and then promoted to the position of Director of Quality Assurance. In 1993, Pamela transferred to a key position in headquarters, Developmental Centers Division, serving as the Chief of Health and Direct Care Services Section. In 2005, Ms. Meeker returned to Lanterman as Clinical Director.
Pamela brings a refreshing style that fosters partnership between management and people of every level. Her strengths include knowledge in clinical systems with unsurpassed expertise in licensing and certification in regulatory requirements. Ms. Meeker has been involved in the developmental of departmental legislation initiatives in order to improve operational systems statewide. More recently, she currently leads the task of analyzing staffing resources at Lanterman in order to provide a structured perspective to the Developmental Centers Division so that resources can be modified systematically.
