Music Therapy Internship
The Porterville Developmental Center Music Therapy Internship program is a 6-month program approved by the American Music Therapy Association as a National Roster Internship. The program is designed to provide the culminating, in-depth supervised clinical training experience required for the undergraduate degree or equivalency program in music therapy.

Training:
PDC currently employs six music therapists. Interns will carry out daily music therapy programs for at least 10-15 clients in individual/small group settings, participate in person-centered planning meetings, document in clients' clinical records, and complete various assessments. Interns will also plan and execute one on-grounds and one off-grounds activity and a final music therapy project. Interns have the opportunity to observe music therapists and other disciplines and attend training and related workshops. A professional library is available for use, with access to the Internet.
- Stipend: $1371-1616 per month
- Studio Apartment available for $238/month

- Completed Music Therapy Internship Application
- Resume or curriculum vitae
- Completed State of California application
- Letter from an accredited college/university verifying satisfactory completion of all pre-internship competencies required by both the AMTA approved college/university and the internship program prior to beginning the internship
- Two letters of recommendation
- Transcripts
