Medical Services

Service Goals:
The most important goal of Medical Services is to provide high quality health care to the clients of Sonoma Developmental Center. Medical Services strives to meet the needs of the clients by working in cooperation with the nursing and program staff. Medical Services is also exploring ways to increase provision of services to developmentally disabled clients living in the community. Medical Services is devoted to maintaining a highly skilled professional staff through continuous skills evaluation, education, and development.
Description of Structure and Staff:
Medical Services consists of the General Acute Care Unit; Podiatry, Dental and Medical Clinics (Outpatient Services); Pharmacy; Radiology; Employee Assistance Program; Public Health; Laboratory; and the Anesthesia Service. The staff for these areas include the organized medical staff (physicians, dentists, podiatrists), nurses, psychiatric technicians, pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, laboratory technicians, radiologic technicians, and a social worker (who directs the Employee Assistance Program).
