Nursing Services

Service Goals:
The Office of Nursing Services is committed to the goal of optimal wellness for people with developmental disabilities through quality professional nursing care, the establishment of collaborative practices, compliance with best nursing practice standards, and health care education.
Description of Structure and Staff:
Nursing Services is responsible for nursing at the General Acute Care Hospital. Health Service Specialists, who are RN's, provide clinical nursing services in the Nursing Facility and Intermediate Care Facility residences. Assistants to the Coordinator of Nursing Services provide nursing quality assurance and emergency response services to clients and staff. MDS Coordinators, who are RN's, assure the use of assessment information for the integration of medical, nursing, and other health-related services provided to Nursing Facility residents. Central Supply Services distributes nursing supplies and equipment, collaborates with nursing staff to assure clients have supplies and equipment appropriate to their needs, and monitors the servicing of biomedical equipment. Restorative Nursing Services provides and coordinates restorative care programs to both Nursing Facility and Intermediate Care Facility clients.
