Sonoma Developmental Center

Sonoma Developmental Center

Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC), located on approximately 900 acres near Glen Ellen in Northern California, opened in 1891 and currently serves people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

SDC is one of four State-operated facilities within the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and is committed to a culture of respect, high-quality services, active treatment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and positive outcomes. SDC's primary customers are the people who reside at the center, their families, advocates, employees, and other developmental services providers. The SDC campus is comprised of acres of land, lakes and various structures including a residential campground, store/cafeteria, post office, petting farm, sports fields, swimming pools, equestrian program and picnic areas.
