Wellness Mental Health Task Force
The Mental Health Task Force (MHTF) was established to improve services for persons with developmental disabilities who also have a mental illness. The Task Force consists of representatives from the Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA), the California Mental Health Directors Association (CMHDA), regional center executives, and county mental health directors. Additional support comes from the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Developmental Services. The goal of the Task Force is to develop collaborative relationships between the agencies that provide mental health services to persons with developmental disabilities.
The MHTF initiated the funding of a specialized position at the local community level to assist county mental health agencies and regional centers in providing services to persons with developmental disabilities. This position is jointly funded by DDS, in collaboration with DMH, and is under contract with ARCA. A special steering committee of the MHTF will oversee the activities of this position.
