Work Services Program - Frequently Asked Questions
These Frequently Asked Questions are provided as a tool to better understand the work services (formerly habilitation) program that will be administered, effective July 1, 2004 by the Department of Developmental Services through 21 nonprofit organizations known as regional centers. The questions were compiled from a variety of sources: stakeholder meetings held with consumers, regional centers, current habilitation service providers; Department of Rehabilitation staff; and the DDS habilitation train-the-trainer trainings; as well as, a host of e-mails and phone calls received by DDS. The FAQs are largely organized by the agency or entity to which the answer most pertains (e.g. regional center, DDS, service provider). Additional questions can be e-mailed to work.services@dds.ca.gov.
