[ca_column size=”2/3″ center=”no”] DDS congratulates 10-year-old Nayeli Lemus of Gilroy who has been selected by the San Andreas Regional Center, and DDS to help Governor Gavin Newsom, and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, light the tree at the Annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 5, 2019.
Nayeli represents more than 340,000 Californians who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and receive services from the state’s 21 nonprofit regional centers and facilities operated DDS.
Nayeli has received specialized services since birth from the regional center and has a diagnosis of Down syndrome. She is a fully included 4th grader at Charter School of Morgan Hill. She is described as being very independent and outgoing, and loves to sing and dance. She enjoys spending time with her little sister, Naia, her parents, Angel and Rosalinda Lemus, and her large extended family. She recently attended her first concert, Kidz Bop, and managed to work her way up to front.
