Helping Californians with developmental disabilities and their families access services is central to the Department’s mission.

To make provider data easier to find and use, the Department launched the Provider Directory in October 2024—a centralized, online portal where service providers and regional center staff can review, validate, and approve vendor data changes.

Early in December 2025, the Department released phase 2 of the Provider Directory. This phase introduced a digital vendorization process that guides potential service providers and existing providers through an online application process and supports the standardization of certain regional center procedures, enabling equal experiences statewide.

The Provider Directory will continue to be developed in phases.

Why is the Provider Directory important?

  • For potential service providers: Provider Directory enables applicants to have a single, digital, standardized application experience.
  • For existing service providers: Provider Directory empowers service providers to be the custodians of their vendor information and enables them to submit new vendorization applications via a single, digital, standardized process.
  • For regional centers: Provider Directory provides the process and tooling to process vendorization applications, communicate with applicants and providers, and manage vendor change requests. It also provides visibility into all service providers, across all 21 regional centers, for records in Provider Directory.
  • For advocates and families: While direct access to Provider Directory is not available to this community, the data in the Directory helps regional centers identify service provider options to meet community needs.

Applicants and Service Providers

Vendorization process: For information about the vendorization process and steps to apply, visit How to Become a Service Provider and refer to the Step-by-Step Provider Directory Guide.

Vendor Maintenance: Service providers are expected to maintain their vendor data in the Provider Directory and submit business changes, when applicable. The process is detailed in the Step-by-Step Provider Directory Guide

Quality Incentive: Participation in the Provider Directory is the basis for participation in the Quality Incentive Program (QIP), which allows providers to earn up to 10% of their provider reimbursement rate. To receive the QIP portion of the rate, you must register and then validate your records in the Provider Directory within 45 days of receiving your invitation to the Provider Directory. You must perform both registration and validation to participate in QIP surveys. For more information about QIP, including requirements for participation, please visit the QIP webpage.
