Harbor Regional Center (Harbor) hosted an Early Start Graduation Ceremony on September 27, 2025, where the incredible growth and accomplishments of children transitioning out of the Early Start program were celebrated.

Harbor recognized this meaningful milestone with a total of 48 graduates and 175 family members in attendance.  Families, the Harbor team, and community members came together to uplift each child’s unique progress and to mark the beginning of their next educational journey.  Pride radiated on the faces of families and caregivers as each young graduate was called up to receive their certificate.

Following the ceremony, families had the opportunity to explore a wide range of community resources.  Representatives from local school districts and various community organizations provided valuable information, answered questions, and offered guidance to attendees.  These resources were especially helpful in preparing families for the next phase of their child’s education, supporting and informing them throughout the transition process.

The celebration featured fun and engaging activities for the whole family.  From face painting and balloon art to circle time, there were plenty of joyful moments where families came together to create lasting memories.  Harbor was thrilled to welcome special guests: the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s HOPE on Wheels that provided exciting hands-on learning experiences, and the Torrance Fire Department, with its fire truck for children to explore.

This event was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and the importance of celebrating each child’s journey.  We are so proud of these Early Start graduates and grateful to everyone who helped make this day so special.

The Early Start program is California’s early intervention program for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or at risk of having a developmental disability and their families.  Early Start services are available throughout the State.  If you have questions or concerns about your child’s development, your local regional center and Family Resource Center are here to help.
