Federal law (H.R. 1) imposes work requirements for individuals enrolled in the Medi-Cal adult expansion program. These requirements do not apply to all Medi-Cal enrollees.
For the approximately 13,500 individuals who receive regional center services and are part of the ACA adult expansion population, the Department of Health Care Services will use regional center data to automatically exempt them from H.R. 1 work requirements. No action should be needed by these individuals or their caregivers to demonstrate exemption.
