On November 21, 2025, the Department issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather input from information technology (IT) vendors. The RFI is an important milestone in the process to develop the new Life Outcomes Improvement System (LOIS). The RFI helps the Department refine what is needed to move forward to the next phase of the LOIS project, a Request for Proposal (RFP).
The November RFI brings us closer to creating an online system that works well for individuals, families, service providers, and regional centers. By learning what IT vendors can do, we can use modern technologies to make sure LOIS improves communication, access, efficiency, and transparency for individuals and families receiving regional center services, and for their service providers.
Key Dates:
- Thursday, December 11, 2025: Questions from IT vendors were due to the Department
- Thursday, January 8, 2026: DDS posts answers online
- Friday, January 23, 2026: IT vendors’ final RFI responses due
- RFP to be released in 2026
