Governor Gavin Newsom declared May Older Californians Month to honor the contributions of older adults across the state.  California’s growing population of older adults continues to enrich our communities in countless ways.

In honor of older Americans, we recognize and celebrate the over 20,000 Californians with I/DD who are 60 years and older.  There is much to be gained and learned from individuals with many years of lived experience.

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) chose “Flipping the Script on Aging” as the theme for Older American’s Month this year.  It encourages individuals and communities to challenge stereotypes and dispel misconceptions.

If you haven’t already, we invite you to check out the Aging Inclusion Resources page on our website with tools and information for older adults, families, and caregivers.
