Have you seen the Acorns to Oak Trees motorhome on the road? Founder and Executive Director Season Goodpasture drove it out to the 58th annual California Native American Day in Sacramento.
A Service Access and Equity grantee, Acorns to Oak Trees provides developmental assessments and support for Tribal children and families across California.
“It’s really important for Tribal families to feel represented in the systems and services that support them,” said Season. “We’re out here today at California Native American Day raising awareness through Harley’s Hope Project about the disproportionate rates of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) in Tribal communities.”

Native Americans have some of the highest rates of IDD in the nation, and many families live in remote areas with limited access to care. Acorns to Oak Trees helps bridge that gap by bringing resources and assessments directly to Tribal communities through its mobile clinic.
On September 26, the team parked its motorhome on the Capitol lawn, offering free screenings and sharing information about services and early intervention.
California’s Native American nations are a vital part of the State’s history, culture and future and we are proud to highlight partners who serve and empower them.
