Helping Californians with developmental disabilities and their families access services is central to the Department’s mission. To make provider data easier to find and use, DDS launched the Provider Directory in October 2024—a centralized, online portal where service providers and select regional center staff can review, validate, and approve vendor data changes.
Now, we’re entering the next phase.
Phase 2 of the Provider Directory introduces a digital intake process that allows providers to apply for vendorization online. This enhancement is part of DDS’s broader effort to standardize certain regional center procedures, enabling equal experiences statewide, and modernize the vendorization process.
This phase supports DDS’s commitment to:
- Comply with Section 4435.1(e) of the Welfare and Institutions Code by establishing a standardized vendorization process by June 30, 2025, and implementing it by January 1, 2026
- Reduce variation in how providers become vendored across regional centers
- Streamline the approval process
- Improve efficiency, consistency, and visibility for all involved
