Staff from the Department’s Offices of the Ombudspersons recently joined Valley Mountain Regional Center’s Self Determination Advisory Committee for their first Self-Determination Program (SDP) Resources Fair!
The team provided information about the Office of the Self-Determination Program Ombudsperson to individuals and families, Financial Management Services (FMS), and SDP service providers. Ombudsperson Katie Hornberger participated on a panel with regional center experts, self-advocates, and community leaders to answer questions about the program.
The Offices of the Ombudsperson are independent offices within the Department. They help people understand developmental disability services, their rights, and finding solutions to problems they encounter.
