This month, Porterville Developmental Center (PDC) recognized 84 volunteers during its annual Volunteer Luncheon.  It was a celebration of the many ways volunteers continue to make a difference across the PDC community.

Honorees included psychology interns, students, social workers, vendors, community schools, and donors.

“As volunteers, you are the guiding stars of our facility,” PDC’s recently retired Executive Director Gabriela Maleszewski said during the luncheon. “Your energy, creativity, and kindness inspire everyone around you and remind us each day that together, we can make a difference and support people to meet their goals.”

Since 1953, volunteers have played an important role at PDC.   The celebration honored both long-time and new volunteers.  It included murals artists who brought color and joy to the campus, college students who worked with individuals under the psychologist’s supervision, and donors whose gifts continue to support important programs.

The Department thanks all of the volunteers whose dedication continue to make a lasting impact at PDC.
