Applying for a state job can feel overwhelming, especially if you are doing it for the first time. Kat Jue can help you figure it.
Kat is the Department’s Workforce Diversity Specialist. She supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through the state hiring process.
“Whether that’s walking you through the state application process, the examination process, the Statement of Qualifications, or you just need interview support, I’m that person for you,” said Kat.
Kat believes this is about more than getting a job. It is about building a future.
To that end, Kat is supporting a new effort at the Department to recruit up to 20 part-time student assistants. She can assist applicants step-by-step so they can feel confident as they move through the process. This initiative aims to create meaningful job opportunities and hands-on employment experience for college students with IDD.
Outside of work, Kat enjoys fitness and takes part in bodybuilding competitions. She brings that same passion for empowerment to her role, supporting others to feel strong as they pursue their career goals. One piece of advice Kat shares with job seekers is simple: don’t give up.
“Your experiences, your perspective, and your voice matter,” she said. “You bring value that no one else can.”
If you are someone with an intellectual or developmental disability looking to begin your employment journey with the Department, schedule an appointment with Kat for personalized support.
