Workforce Diversity Specialist-Serving People with Disabilities in the State of California
As DDS’ Workforce Diversity Specialist, I work closely with staff across the Department, the Lived Experience Advisory Group, and external partners to support a more inclusive hiring experience. I serve as a trusted point of contact for individuals with disabilities as they navigate the state hiring process, which is often one that can feel hard to understand.
As someone with family members and close friends that have intellectual disabilities, I bring awareness and understanding to this role and recognize barriers that are not always visible. Using a fair and personal approach, I offer guidance, answer questions, and connect candidates to resources that help them move through the process with clarity and confidence. This approach ensures individuals with disabilities are supported as people first, while maintaining fairness and consistency in hiring practices across the Department.
