Everyone deserves information and services in a language they understand.

The Department has recently updated its Language Access Plan.  The plan outlines how we provide important information in languages other than English.  The Department updates our Plan every two years in partnership with the California Health and Human Services Agency.

The plan guides how we:

  • Provide spoken language and sign language interpretation services
  • Translate important documents and website content
  • Identify language preferences
  • Train employees on language access requirements
  • Monitor and improve language access services

The May 2026 report includes a list of vital documents that have been translated into the threshold languages of Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Korean.
