The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Autism Services Branch celebrated its first anniversary on July 23, 2024! The department created the Autism Services Branch in response to the growing number of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The Autism Services Branch has since grown to an 8-person team that coordinates and oversees services for people with autism in California. Their goal is to get more autistic people and their families connected to the supports and services they need to live the life they choose. This includes Early Start services, various therapies, employment supports, and more.
You can call the Autism Helpline or email the inbox to ask questions about autism, learn more about services, or request technical assistance. Please note the helpline is not a 24/7 crisis line.
