Congratulations to the more than 81,000 Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) and supervisors who participated in the DSP Training Stipend program! They completed more than 200,000 training courses aimed at enhancing their skills. The program offered qualified participants up to $1,250 (before taxes) for completing two hours of approved training.
The DSP Training Stipend Program is part of the Department’s Workforce Initiatives. The initiatives aim to recruit and train a workforce representing diverse communities across California to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Several initiatives are focused on retaining and providing career advancement for quality DSPs with competency-based trainings, stipends, pay differentials, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
