A grand 60-ft tree now illuminates the State’s Capitol Rotunda with the help of nine-year-old Carter Morris of Merced. Carter was selected by the Central Valley Regional Center to join Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Newsom for the 93rd annual ceremony. Expanding on four decades of tradition, ornaments made by individuals served by regional centers were hung with care on 6-ft trees representing all 21 regional centers. Check out several of the photos below that captured the magic of the trees and their decorators, which now deck the halls of the Capitol grounds.
