For many families, an Early Start service coordinator is their first introduction to California’s developmental services system.  They guide families through available resources and connect them to services and support.

Early Start service coordinators celebrate every milestone alongside the families they support.

“I’ve had parents tell me they didn’t know this kind of support existed.  Seeing the relief on their faces when they realize they’re not alone is what really fills my heart” said Isacc Meraz, an Early Start Service Coordinator at Valley Mountain Regional Center.

In June, Early Start service coordinators met for workshops in Northern and Southern California.  They shared ideas, learned from one another, and talked about ways to support children and families accessing the right services at the right time.

During the workshops, we asked several coordinators what this work means to them.  Watch the video above to hear what they shared!
