People are diverse and have varied needs and experiences.  These factors need to be understood, and used to work toward the fairest possible equitable outcomes for everyone.   We are developing a new online Equity Dashboard to look at services and supports.  The new dashboard will help all of us see differences in the following areas:

  • Availability: People know what services and supports they can get, and there are enough services and supports to meet their needs.  This includes the right kinds and amounts (intensity) of services and supports.
  • Accessibility: People can get services and supports where, when, and how they need them.  They can also get them in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Acceptability: Services and supports are respectful of the culture of individuals, families, and communities and are sensitive to needs of different groups.
  • Efficiency: Services and supports are delivered effectively.
  • Person-centeredness: Service planning and delivery are guided by the person’s own likes, goals, and values.
  • Timeliness: Services and supports are provided without unnecessary delays.

We have been working with community partners to gather ideas for meaningful measures to include in this new Interactive Equity Dashboard.  We also have been getting feedback on how to present the data.

The Department’s Research and Data Analytics team is building the initial data models, structure, and navigation for the dashboard.  These things will guide how the dashboard works.

The dashboard is designed to grow.  It will start with a few measures and expand over time as data improves and more information becomes available.

We expect to release the initial Equity Dashboard, along with plain-language supporting documents, this summer.  Public webinars will be held to get feedback and ideas.  Stay tuned for upcoming announcements!
