The Department’s Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) provides advice on policies, programs, legislation, and regulations that affect the lives of Californians with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Fifteen (15) self-advocate members from all over California
- Meets at least four (4) times per year in Sacramento, or online via Zoom.
- Members share information with their local self-advocacy organizations and bring input from those groups back to the CAC.
If you would like to apply to be a CAC member, here is what is needed:
- You must have an intellectual or developmental disability
- You must be receiving regional center services.
- You must be a member of a local self-advocacy group or other organization that serves or empowers people with developmental disabilities.
- That organization must nominate you for the committee.
- Fill out the online CAC application and submit it with your nomination letter.
