The California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) is launching Cycle 2 of the Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Student Loan Repayment Program (MBH-SLRP), and is hosting two free informational webinars to walk behavioral health professionals through the details. Eligible behavioral health practitioners may qualify for up to $240,000 in educational loan repayment in exchange for a multi-year service commitment at a Medi-Cal safety net setting.
The webinars are scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 9:30–10:30 a.m. and Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 10:00–11:00 a.m. You can register for the webinars on the HCAi website. Attendees will learn:
- how individuals can apply,
- what service commitments are required,
- which settings and professions qualify, and
- how organizations can support staff in taking advantage of this program.
