California Tribes, organizations, universities, and state agencies came together to celebrate the culture and valuable contributions of California Native Americans.  The 57th Annual Native American Day was held at the west steps of the State Capitol on September 27, 2024.  The California Tribal Chairpersons’ Association hosted the event in partnership with the State of California.  This year’s theme was “Recognizing 100 Years of Citizenship and the Fight for the Right to Vote: 1924-2024.”

There were many booths displaying cultural art, instruments, clothing, and resources for community members.  The Department was grateful to have been one of the state agencies providing information about available services and supports.
