Ability Tools
Ability Tools is an assistive technology program of the California Foundation of Independent Living Centers. This website has tools and trainings, and Ability Tools offers services such as device lending libraries and financial loan programs for assistive technology.
AbilityFirst
Through 24 locations across Southern California, AbilityFirst provides programs and services to help children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities reach their full potential throughout their lives.
California Department of Developmental Services
The California Department of Developmental Services oversees the coordination and delivery of services to the over 350,000 Californians who have cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and related conditions through a network of 21 regional centers and state-operated facilities.
California Division of Occupational Safety & Health (Cal/OSHA)
Cal/OSHA protects workers and the public from safety hazards through its Occupational Safety and Health, elevator, amusement ride, aerial tramway, ski lift and pressure vessel inspection programs, and also provides consultative assistance to employers.
California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD)
The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is established by state and federal law as an independent state agency to ensure that people with developmental disabilities and their families receive the services and supports they need.
Disability Rights California (DRC)
Disability Rights California (DRC) is California’s protection and advocacy system. They help people with disabilities through legal advice or representation, impact litigation, supporting self-advocates, outreach in the community, investigating abuse and neglect, and work on public policies. DRC helps people with disabilities live integrated and meaningful lives.
Supported Life Institute
The mission of the nonprofit Supported Life Institute is to offer educational and training opportunities to assist individuals and organizations in the work of improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry: Pacific Center for Special Care
The Pacific Center for Equity in Oral Health Care, located in San Francisco, CA, is committed to improving the oral health of people with special needs and older adults on the local, state, and federal level. The center offers training to direct caregivers of people with disabilities and frail elders. These materials are designed to engage direct caregivers in maintaining oral health of people they serve.

ADED Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists
The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists supports professionals working in driver education/training and transportation equipment modifications for persons with disabilities through education and information dissemination.
American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD)
The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is a national cross-disability rights organization that is a convener, connector, and catalyst for change, increasing the political and economic power of people with disabilities. AAPD hosts a Career Center, a source for people with disabilities to search and land professional careers with leading employers.
American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD)
AAIDD is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of professionals and citizens concerned about intellectual and developmental disabilities.
American Red Cross: Open Shelter Locator Map
The American Red Cross (ARC) has an online locator for open shelters. You can search for the nearest open shelter at any time. ARC has thousands of possible shelter locations around the country and this map will now allow anyone to find shelters that are currently OPEN because of an emergency situation.
The Arc
The Arc is the world’s largest community-based organization of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It provides an array of services and support for families and individuals and includes over 140,000 members affiliated through more than 730 state and local chapters across the nation.
Autism Society of America
The Autism Society is the leading source of reliable information about autism. The Autism Society has spearheaded numerous pieces of federal, state and local legislation. The Autism Society’s on-line resource database, Autism Source™, and National Contact Center (800-3-AUTISM) provide information and service referrals to thousands of people each year.
CDC National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD)
The mission of the CDC’s National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) is to promote the health of babies, children and adults and enhance the potential for full, productive living.
Disabled World
Disabled-World.com is an independent Health and Disability news source that brings together information they receive from worldwide disability organizations, governments, and educational institutions, in addition to their own in-house articles and fact sheets covering seniors and disability news, assistive device reviews, and articles on everything from helpful tips to disability sports articles.
Easterseals
Easterseals is a national resource for individuals with disabilities, veterans, seniors and their families. Together, its 67 affiliates in communities nationwide serve 1.5 million people annually through high-quality programs, including autism services, early intervention, workforce development and adult day care.
Hesperian Health Guides
Hesperian Health Guides is a nonprofit health information and health education source. Hesperian produces and shares easy-to-understand health information for people worldwide.
Medical Home Portal
The Medical Home Portal, a project of the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah, is a source of information about children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) for families, physicians and medical home teams, and other professionals and caregivers.
SSI Child Disability Starter Kit (for children)
Social Security and Supplemental Security Income disability programs are the largest of several Federal programs that provide assistance to people with disabilities. This starter kit for children includes a fact sheet, checklist, and worksheet.
TASH
TASH is an international association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates, and professionals fighting for a society in which inclusion of all people in all aspects of society is the norm. TASH’s mission is to eliminate physical and social obstacles that prevent equity, diversity, and quality of life.
