HCBS Compliance Funding

The Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 enacted budget includes $15 million to assist providers in complying with the HCBS Final Rule, and to support broader work in each community which promotes and sustains ongoing compliance.

The 2019 enacted budget contains $15 million to fund changes that are necessary for providers to come into compliance with the HCBS rules by March 2022.

In recognition that service providers will need to continue taking steps towards modifying their services, the 2018 Budget Act (SB 840, Chapter 29, Budget Act 2018) contains $15 million to fund changes that are necessary for providers to come into compliance with the HCBS rules by March 2022. Information regarding the funding process, by fiscal year is available below.

The 2017 Budget Act (AB 97, Chapter 14, Statutes of 2017) contained $15 million to help fund changes necessary for regional center service providers to come into compliance with the HCBS rules. The Department received 310 concepts from providers requesting over $130 million.

The 2016 Budget Act (SB 826, Chapter 23, Statutes of 2016) contained $15 million to help fund changes necessary for regional center service providers to come into compliance with the HCBS rules. DDS received almost 900 concepts from providers requesting over $130 million.
